Tucked away on the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, Raetihi Lodge is the perfect destination for those looking to truly get away from it all. The lodge overlooks Kenepuru Sound and offers a tranquil retreat amongst the native bush and chatter of birdsong. Despite this seclusion the hotel styles itself on a ‘home away from home’ approach, with a warm welcome and comfortable, unfussy decor. The rooms have different outlooks: some open up in to a secluded courtyard, some have views out over the surrounding bushland whilst others have water views.  The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has an excellent wine selection, many from the Marlborough region. This is a great base for outdoor activities and the lodge offers complimentary mountain bikes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, fishing rods and rowing boats for guests to use. There are also some superb walking tracks through the surrounding nature reserve. However, if you’d prefer to just kick back a little there is also guest lounge with a pool table, small library, TV and open fire.
