Day 1
Today you will begin your journey to New Zealand.
Day 2
You will be in flight today. If you prefer to break the journey there are many options of stopover destinations around the world.
Day 3
You will arrive in Auckland today. Spend the afternoon having a look around the city. You might like to take a trip up the Sky Tower for excellent view of the city.
Day 4
Collect a hire car and make your way to Rotorua this morning. Stop at Hobbiton on the way for a tour of their film set. This evening enjoy a Maori cultural performance and traditional Hangi including the infamous Haka.
Day 5
Spend the day exploring some of the geothermal attractions in the area. You might like to visit the Polynesian Spa to unwind after the journey. This evening book at table to dine at the Stratosfare Restaurant for great views over the city.
Day 6
Make your way to the coastal town of Napier today. Stop in Taupo en route for a coffee or stroll along the lake front and visit Huka Falls as part of your journey.
Day 7
Have a look at some of the Art Deco architecture this morning, a guided tour can be arranged if that is something you would enjoy. This afternoon you will join a wine tour of the local Hawke's Bay wine region.
Day 8
Today you will take a short internal flight from Napier to Blenheim, with a short touchdown in Wellington. Collect a hire car on arrival and make your way to nearby Picton where you will stay.
Day 9
Join a fantastic full day tour that showcases the best of the Marlborough Region. Start with a tour to some of the region’s vineyards then enjoy a leisurely cruise through the sounds, sampling local seafood and wines as you go.
Day 20
Make your way down the coast to Kaikoura and spend the afternoon having a look around the lovely little shops and galleries here. If you are a fan of seafood this is the place to get it! Kaikoura is a Maori name meaning simply- To eat Crayfish.
Day 11
Today you might like to join a dolphin watching tour. If you are feeling a little braver you might like to Swim with the pods of up to 200 dolphins! Following your tour make your way to Christchurch this afternoon. On arrival drop off your car hire and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
Day 12
Board the wonderfully scenic Tranz Alpine train which takes you across Arthur’s Pass, one of the most scenic parts of the South Island to Greymouth on the West Coast. Collect another car and drive down the West coast to Glacier country.
Day 13
Start the day with a fantastic scenic flight over the mountains and glaciers then take a walk around Lake Matheson for further fantastic views or a stroll through the valley floor for more time around the beautiful glaciers.
Day 14
The drive today is spectacular and sees you travel through the beautiful Haast Pass to Queenstown. There are plenty of photo opportunities along this stunning road.
Day 15
The grand finale of your whistle-stop tour today sees you join a full day trip to magnificent Milford Sound. The journey to the fiord is spectacular but Milford Sound will take your breath away.
Day 16
Today sees you end your tour of New Zealand with a flight to Auckland then join your overnight flight back to the UK.

There is an incredible array of things to see and do in New Zealand but we appreciate that it’s not always possible to spend three or four weeks there. We have therefore created a self-drive itinerary for those who have less time. This route offers a great overview of the diverse scenery and activities that you can enjoy along the way, including a wonderful scenic flight over the glaciers and a trip to iconic Milford Sound. However, if you have other priorities for your time we can tailor an itinerary to suit.
