Hidden away in a cave on the western shore of Lake Te Anau is a magical world of glowworms. Arriving by boat from Te Anau you disembark at Cavern House where informative displays explain this geological and natural wonder. You then join your guide and take a walk through the caves, passing underground waterfalls, whirlpools and intriguing rock sculptures. Next you take to a small boat and float in to a hidden grotto where you will find yourself surrounded by thousands of glowworms, creating a glittering display amidst an incredible silence. This is a fantastic experience for all the family.
