Akaroa Harbour is home to the rare Hector’s Dolphins, protected in the harbour as part of a marine mammal sanctuary. On this three-hour cruise you will learn about the species – the world’s smallest dolphin – with a view to swimming with them if you spot them. You will be advised on how to interact with them once in the water and have up to 45 minutes to enjoy their company if they are so willing. A hot drink and hot shower is available after the cruise. This excursion is also suitable for those who don’t want to swim but would prefer to just observe these wonderful creatures from the boat.
