Mou Waho is a remote, predator-free island in the middle of Lake Wanaka. It is haven for some wonderful New Zealand birdlife including the rare flightless Buff Weka which is extinct on the mainland. This three-and-a-half-hour tour starts with a scenic cruise across the lake followed by a one-hour return walk through native bush to a small lake perched on the top of the island. Here you will take high tea amongst a symphony of birdsong and enjoy splendid views of the Southern Alps and Mount Aspiring National Park before returning to the boat.
