This full day excursion departs from Queenstown and takes you by luxury coach to Te Anau, the main access point to Fiordland National Park, then along the scenic Milford Road, stopping en route to take photos and stretch your legs. The whole journey takes around four and a half hours in each direction and the coaches have glass rooves for the best views along the way. Upon reaching the wharf at Milford you commence a two and a quarter hour cruise that takes you all the way to the Tasman Sea and back. With expert naturalist commentary you will learn all about the ecology and geology of this pristine environment, stop to view waterfalls, and keep an eye out for the resident wildlife along the way. Complimentary tea, coffee and ridiculously beautiful views are all complimentary whilst on board! The whole tour takes around 13 hours.
There is the option to fly back from Milford rather than take the coach, which gives you spectacular views over Mount Aspiring National Park and the Southern Lakes. This is an incredible experience but it is very weather dependant; if the flight doesn’t operate return to Queenstown is by coach.
