Akaroa is located at one end of scenic Banks Peninsula, about a 90-minute drive from Christchurch. The peninsula offers a rugged agricultural landscape fringed with a number of lovely little bays and this full-day tour gives you a wonderful overview of the area. You will pass various points of interest and stop at Barry’s Bay to sample some fine cheeses before continuing your journey to Akaroa where you have lunch on the waterfront. You then enjoy a two-hour sightseeing cruise of the impressive harbour, hopefully accompanied by some wildlife sightings, before returning to Christchurch. If time permits on the return journey you will also stop at Birdlings Flat on the Kaitorete Spit.
